Growing up, my family always had outdoor cats. Often, our cats would be gone for the majority of the day, or overnight, leaving my sister and I to wonder excitedly about our cats’ whereabouts. Occassionally they would return to our house with clues of adventure: burrs, mud, a scratch here and there, etc., furthering our fanstastic speculation of their feline meandering.

Have you ever seen Creature Comforts? It was originally an 80’s movie about the lives of zoo animals that was later turned into a television series. Last summer CBS picked it up, but I only got to see one episode. The basic premise: a plethora of people are interviewed and taped, discussing various topics, and their voices are then matched with a complementary creature (bird, mammal, reptile), creating hilarious commentary on the human psyche.
Lo and behold, I came across the episode I saw last summer and thought I’d share because it truly is brilliant.

Monster Hunter vinyl pig collection.

Look at the little piggy I picked up this weekend! She’s soo cute! Ordinarily, I’m not into vinyl designer toys in blind boxes, they seem to be a black-hole for money. But when I saw her sitting in the display case at Newbury Comics, I knew we were destined to be life-long friends.

I thought this was a joke at first, it’s just too adorable to be a true story — but it is! This little piggie cannot go to market through the mud (she has mysophobia, which is a fear of dirt). Go figure, a pig who doesn’t love getting dirty! To remedy the problem, her owners came up with the clever idea of fitting her with two pairs of custom wellies, and now she can frolick and play the piglet way!
