Look at the little piggy I picked up this weekend! She’s soo cute! Ordinarily, I’m not into vinyl designer toys in blind boxes, they seem to be a black-hole for money. But when I saw her sitting in the display case at Newbury Comics, I knew we were destined to be life-long friends.

I thought this was a joke at first, it’s just too adorable to be a true story — but it is! This little piggie cannot go to market through the mud (she has mysophobia, which is a fear of dirt). Go figure, a pig who doesn’t love getting dirty! To remedy the problem, her owners came up with the clever idea of fitting her with two pairs of custom wellies, and now she can frolick and play the piglet way!

THE CAT BUS ONLY HAS 50K, WHICH ARE ALL HIGHWAY MILES AS I DROVE IT TO WORK 2 DAYS A WEEK AND THAT WAS IT. IT’S IN REALLY GOOD SHAPE AND ALL THE FUR IS STILL ALL THERE. THE STEERING WHEEL HAS A CAT ON IT. IM ONLY ASKING 2900 FOR THE CATBUS BECAUSE ITS REALLY FURRY AND SOMETIMES PEOPLE GET SICK ON IT.”

This article from CNN.com is as cute as it is sad (just check out the before and after pictures). At the ripe age of 25, Pierre penguin lost his feathers — a predicament for penguins because their feathers provide warmth in the water. Without his feathers, Pierre steered clear of the water, the frigid temps being too much for his little body to handle.

Fortunately for Pierre, his trainers thought on their feet and designed a custom-sized wetsuit to remedy his problem. After six weeks, he is successfully integrating with his penguin friends, his plumage is beginning to return, and he’s put on some weight! Way to go le petite!

I caught a glimpse of this guy on the news last night and again today on my way to work — he’s an alligator snapping turtle and the newest member of The New England Aquarium’s aquatic family. Seems normal enough, but it’s how he spent his first life that amazed me — Fluffy’s previous owner, who happened to be a drug dealer, used him to guard his stash. When did guns, dogs, and safes go out of style?

As of press time my apartment does not afford me to keep pets. It saddens me, and so,  when I found these little guys I decided they’d have to do for now. Please meet:

These little guys are created and hand-made by Donna Wilson from the UK. She has whole range of little “creatures” as she calls them on her Web site (which is entirely worth checking out, think flash animation — creatures who pop-up and roll-over hand-drawn icons).

Besides being absolutely smashable (and I say that in the most docile way possible) little Lola, a nature-identified quadruped, cannot use her back legs. At birth, a genetic defect rendered her hind quarters immobile, leaving her to live life on two feet.
