Since I’m wearing a yellow t-shirt and red jeans today, it’s only fitting that I was feeling a “primary” connection to this Otis Elevator ad from the 1960s.

Peeped on IAAFOTS’ photostream.

In recent months, Tom’s shoes has made strides in expanding its shoe line — from suede to glitter patterns and now even The Wrap Boot (its newest edition to the family). Because Tom’s shoes are inspired by traditional Argentinian alpargatas, it’s fitting that the new Wrap Boot is inspired by the country’s long-standing notoriety as the Polo World Champion. The boots actually mimic the leg warps worn by the horses during polo matches — a pretty cool concept really.

I’ve yet to invest in a pair of boots for the upcoming Fall/Winter months. These boots would be a great way to break out of the leather boot box and try something new. Plus, their slimming shape would be flattering when paired with some sveltely cut jeans. At $118.00 a pair, they won’t even injure your bank account.

Ms. Tautou, you have indeed saved the day.
Just as I lost all hope that the life of Coco Chanel would never see an accurate on-screen portrayal — have you seen clips (I say clips because I couldn’t bear to sit through it) from the recent Lifetime movie staring Shirley McClaine (oh the horror!) as Chanel? — the alluring French actress, Audrey Tautou comes along, reviving the fashion maven’s story and my faith in casting. Tautou has just signed on to play Chanel in a forthcoming biopic (adapted from L’irreguliere by Edmonde Charles-Roux) slated for a 2009 release.

But wait, it gets better: Not only will it be a French-language film, but Karl Lagerfeld is going to recreate Coco’s original wardrobe! WHAT!? It’s my ideal trifecta — Ms. Tautou, French film, and a haute couture wardrobe. I cannot wait.
In the mean time, I suggest you educate yourself about the life of Gabrielle Chanel by reading my favorite bio of the fiery designer, Chanel: A Woman of Her Own by Axel Madsen. Pure enjoyment.
Read the film deets here.

My friend sent this fang-toothed bunny photo to me this morning — before hopping on her flight to Milwaukee for the 105th Harley Davidson anniversary celebration. Sorry Kelso, can’t say I’m jealous.
You can check out more pictures of this wiley creature here.
