Using passive amplification, this device turns the sound produced by your iPod headphones into speaker-quality acoustics. The Phonofone II is constructed of rigid ceramics — its properties transmit audio waves — resonating up to 55 decibels without the use of electricity. Unlike its progenitor the gramophone, the Phonofone II is not intended for use as a home stereo but merely as a supplement to personal audio devices.
